Beth Ann Borecky has a Masters in Medical Massage Therapy

Hay??

Beth Ann's Therapeutic Massage: Medical Massage Therapy

By now, you, our web page visitor, should be beginning to realize there is a big difference between a Medical Massage Therapist, a Spa therapist, and a Masseuse.  First, and foremost, a Masseuse has no Formal Training.  A Medical Massage Therapist usually has more hours invested after the initial training and definitely has more hours in advanced training.  Goals are different as well: Medical Massage is looking to assist the patient in their medical goals, Spa Massage typically focus on relaxation.  Notice the other subtle difference: Patient Versus Client.

Not ALL Medical Massage Therapists are the Same

Beth completed a 2500 Credit hour course for her Master's Degree in Medical Massage Therapy.  This Degree typically takes 3 years to complete, Beth completed it a tad faster.  The master level program puts emphasis on many, many possible injuries, how to measure and / or test for them and then how to use Massage Therapy to treat them.  Whereas Medical Massage Therapists, without the Master Program, has goals to reduce pain, aid in recovery and improve mobility too, they do not have the benefit of the extra targeted training.

The Masters Program prepared Beth to work with all healthcare professionals in and out of hospital settings and in the private sectors.  Including Scar Reduction, Scar Removal and Decreased Inflammation.

When to Consider Medical Massage:
  • If you're experiencing chronic pain, injuries, or medical conditions that affect your mobility or function. (DENTAL PAIN)
  • If you have scar tissue or adhesion from past injuries. (SURGICAL ASPECT)
  • If you want to improve your range of motion, flexibility, and overall well-being.
  • If your doctor or other healthcare professional recommends it as part of your treatment plan.
  • If you have anxiety about upcoming procedures. (DENTAL or SURGICAL)
  • If you are in specific pain and need relief without drugs (DENTAL) or more drugs for pain are counter indicated.
Beth can use her tools, expertise and education to find your "needle of pain" in your "body's hay stacks!"
